General Manager

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing regionalized support to the customer base utilizing either Field Service technicians or the Regional Turbine Center, the role is the management of all Field Service personnel activities carried out on gas turbine engine powered aircraft, including technical troubleshooting, problem solving, engine changes and field repairs. The incumbent is also responsible for daily management of all facility and personnel requirements at a Regional Turbine Center, or related satellite location, involving work on gas turbine engine powered aircraft, including technical troubleshooting, problem solving, engine changes, spare parts inventory management and field shop repairs.

On top of this, be legal responsible for Brazilian Legal entity in according with Brazilian Social Contract Consolidation.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  1. The role has P+L responsibility for both Field Service Region and Regional Turbine Center.
  2. Contribute to annual budgeting and monthly review to develop the RTC to maximum potential in line with Company Strategic Goals.
  3. To utilize all available resources, to enhance the long term viability and profitability of the RTC/FS
  4. Lead the employees of the RTC/ FS ensuring they are effectively managed, motivated and developed.
  5. Ensure effective controls are in place to enable accurate monitoring of performance and to recognize areas for improvement.
  6. Act as a role model within the RTC/FS encouraging open communication, fostering an improvement culture and leading by example. Take account of the wider Company benefits of actions.
  7. Network with key customers (internal and external), suppliers and competitors, to understand the market-place and provide appropriate strategic direction.
  8. Achieve Company and RTC/FS measures and targets, in particular Financial and Customer Support.
  9. Identify opportunities for improvement of business and processes, in working practices and team efficiency.
  10. As part of our continuing commitment to delight our customers, we provide out of Hours Emergency Cover. You may be required to help provide this service by participating in an Out of Hours Rota.
  11. The Safe Management of all Field Service and RTC activities conducted by the regional employees, including planning, leading, organizing and directing areas as: work assignments, performance management and budgets.
  12. Staffing and training of all positions with qualified and competent persons.
  13. Overall implementation and maintenance of the tools, procedures and systems required to effectively perform Field Service and RTC activities.
  14. Ensuring that the persons given a particular assignment are fully qualified to perform, supervise, inspect and return to service the work assigned.
  15. Providing proper tools, equipment and training for the field service and RTC personnel.
  16. Oversight of the activities of the field service personnel to ensure that their work practices are in conformance with regulatory guidance, customer, manufacturer and company policies and guidelines.
  17. Act as primary managerial contact point between customers, sales managers, other DAI operating groups.
  18. Providing proper tools, equipment and training for the Regional Turbine Center personnel.
  19. Oversee the activities of the Regional Turbine Center personnel to ensure that their work practices are in conformance with regulatory guidance, customer, manufacturer and company policies and guidelines.
  20. Works closely with areas such as Sales, Operations, Engineering, QC, Materials and Finance to ensure both customer company requirements are met or exceeded.
  21. Reviews analytical reports of such information as: log books; work-orders; product/engine input; gross margin analysis; invoice review; and service bulletin/O.E.M. review.
  22. Assist customers with billing/financial terms, coordinating with production to establish engine completion dates, and preparation/presentation of overhaul or repair cost analysis.
  23. Provide for appropriate inspections following completion of engine/component repairs and modifications following installation into the aircraft for final acceptance, airworthiness certifications and release to service.
  24. Besides of operational activities, be responsible for represent Legal entity in court and relationship with third parties.
  25. Responsible for Sign of : contracts (Sales Purchases), financing , banking account, warranty, leasing, statutory accounting;
  26. Managing , supervisioning, administrating , coordinating all local strategies applicable from Mother company, including Sales and business development.
  27. Assure that all decisions from shareholders are noted and applicable.
  28. Maintain positive managerial and interpersonal working and problem solving relationships with all levels of customers and internal departments, customers, agents, vendors and Airworthiness Authority personnel
  29. Responsible for managing budgets and activities for Sales/ RTC team ensuring proper allocation of cost is achieved ;

Qualifications - Internal

Minimum Qualifications:
Work requires a level of knowledge in administration, finance, engeneering, General Brazilian taxes regulation.

Expertise in MS office – excel / word / PowerPoint

English fluency

Spanish is a plus



Qualifications: (Including Licenses and Certifications)
College degree (Associates or Bachelor’s) or high school graduate with Engineer/Administration/Finance training and knowledge normally achieved through graduation from a university, trade school or military aircraft maintenance program.

Direct /Indirect Experience:

Should have a minimum of 10 plus years of extensive and progressively more complex related experience in the aviation engine maintenance industry.

The knowledge/experience level required is such that in hiring replacement, candidates would either have to have had previous experience with the products or services, or would require extensive training related to the products or services prior to their having the sufficient knowledge to call upon customers.

Qualifications: (Including Licenses and Certifications)

Should have a demonstrated history displaying an in-depth knowledge of sales and marketing techniques.

Extensive technical repair and overhaul knowledge of specific types and models of aircraft turbine engines.

Must possess strong and effective interpersonal and written/verbal communications skills.

Demonstrated strong problem solving skills in a multi-tasking environment.

Level of Decision Making/Problem Solving:

Provides direct management and oversight of supervisors and FSR’s and RTC’s handling problems in field service, environments while representing the company on-site, using tact and diplomacy, where communication with customers and other company personnel is vital to successful completion of assignments.

Makes managerial decisions involving both established policies/procedures and sensitive customer issues which may require further consultation with executives in the operations, sales and service functions.

Should be able to demonstrate PC proficiency in MS Word and Excel as well as learn any corporate or industry software used by the position

Most work is in a normal office environment but there are frequent trips to field locations, both in hangars and on ramps. Environment may include extended periods of elevated noise exposure due to engine testing.

Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.

Must be able to travel between 25-45 of the time.

Hangars, ramps and engine shop environments, including: hoists, heavy parts, chemicals and fluids with use of precision instruments, stringent housekeeping and work area safety regulations and practices to observe and maintain.
