Position Summary


DRS Network Imaging Systems in Cypress, CA is part of the Electro-Optical and Infrared Systems Group of Leonardo DRS and has over 30 years of experience in designing and developing electro-optical/infrared systems for surveillance and targeting applications. We are seeking a Lead Manufacturing Technician to join the company in the development of strategic space and weather systems.


Requirements:

Basic Qualifications and Required Skills
  • Associate’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in the field or in a related area
  • Strong decision-making and leadership skills
  • Experienced handling small delicate components, using ESD practices
  • Microscope, soldering and wire bonding experience a plus
  • Must be experienced in the safe handling of chemicals
  • Experienced in the use of various computer applications, including Word and Excel
  • Must have good mechanical skills

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform electro-mechanical assembly, disassembly and rework some test and repair of various electronic products and mechanical assemblies in a clean-room environment
  • Interpret and follow written documents such as SOPs and safety rules
  • Provide technical support to engineers and scientist on a variety of complex components, devices, material, products, processes and/or equipment
  • Work from complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches and running sheets of significant complexity
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and Federal regulations and any applicable certification required to maintain the certification
  • Interface with other departments to assure efficient flow of information and materials
  • Meet production deadlines
  • Produce high quality finished results
  • Diagnose cause of electrical, optical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventative and corrective maintenance
  • Modify a variety of complex electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

 

The expected pay scale for this position is $31.38/hour - $44.88/hour. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly. When extending an offer of employment, Leonardo DRS considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position; any Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, the candidate’s relevant work experience, education/training, certifications, and key skills; internal equity; and market and business considerations.
