In this position you will be responsible for all phases of the procurement process for the client. You will direct the acquisition of goods and services assuring the continuity of supply while maximizing the use of company assets. Assure that parts, materials and supplies are available to meet production schedules.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
*Develop purchasing strategies and value analysis.
*Directs category negotiation and sourcing strategies for KA and KACC.
*Assure that all purchasing activities are in compliance with FAA and relevant international standards.
*Select reliable sources of supply; prepare purchase order and purchase parts, materials and supplies at the lowest cost consistent with regulations and approved quality and delivery standards.
*Conduct purchasing activities to ensure that parts, materials and supplies are available in necessary quantities to meet production schedules. This includes calculating timetables for when parts and supplies are needed by production schedules to ensure that inventory is not excessive and yet still on hand when items are needed.
*Actively monitor the economy and vendor activity in the industry to develop sources of information that support timely forecasting and leveraging of price trends and market conditions.
*Coordinate with Program/Project Managers to understand project requirements and assure that parts, components and supplies are available when needed to meet schedules and commitments. Investigate and resolve problems resulting from material shortages and overages.
*Establish stock minimums in collaboration with the Production Manager and Cost Accountant.
*Responsible for control and tracking of parts and materials, including assurance that usage is tied to the correct project or activity.
*Manage the purchase order process and review current purchase order status to enhance the accuracy of the company#161;#166;s open purchase orders.
*Identify and implement improvements in over-all purchasing program that will advance the interest of the company and contribute to delivery of highest quality VIP interiors.
*Place orders with suppliers or vendors and ensure that required sourcing documentation is in order.
*Partner with the Chief Inspector to maintain up to date knowledge on changing standards and requirements.
*Work with sales personnel and project planners to assure bidding is accurate and can be completed within proposed schedules and costs.
*Participate in project review meetings and be prepared to identify any emerging issue in parts, materials and supplies.
*Report on parts, materials and supplies monthly, including status of materials for projects, general stocking levels, and compliance with budget.
*Manage and develop staff to assure that: Appropriate hiring criteria is utilized for approved positions and that candidates are selected to provide the right skills at the right time; Personnel are trained in all aspects of aircraft maintenance and modification to ensure that work is properly performed to meet the company's high quality standards: Annual performance reviews are conducted using approved processes;including establishment of performance improvement plans as needed.#160;
KNOWLEDGE, CAPABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:
*Minimum of five years of experience in aviation purchasing and inventory management in an FAA Repair Station.
*Experience working as a effective member of a team
*Ability to use financial analysis to track and manage costs
*Strong vendor relationship skills
*Project management skills desirable
*Solid work references
*Strong communication skills, both oral and written
