Description:

About flyExclusive

flyExclusive is one of the nation’s leading private jet operators, delivering world-class private aviation experiences through a growing fleet and a relentless focus on operational excellence. Headquartered in Kinston, North Carolina, with offices in Raleigh, flyExclusive manages every facet of flight operations — maintenance, paint, interiors, charter, and aircraft management — under one roof.

We operate in a fast-paced, data-driven environment where decision quality directly impacts safety, profitability, and the customer experience. As the company continues to scale, harnessing the power of data, AI, and advanced analytics has become critical to our success.

Summary and Objective

The Director of Strategic Finance & Decision Intelligence will be a cornerstone in this evolution — driving analytical innovation, building decision systems, and creating the financial and operational clarity that powers the next phase of flyExclusive’s growth.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact position for an analytical and strategic leader who thrives at the intersection of finance, operations, data, and technology.

You will play a pivotal role in modernizing how the company makes decisions — from flight and maintenance planning to fleet strategy, pricing, and investment prioritization. You will lead efforts to unify financial and operational data, deploy AI and automation tools, and provide decision frameworks that directly influence executive action.

The ideal candidate is a builder — a person who sees both the strategic forest and the technical trees — and who is passionate about using data, analytics, and agentic AI to transform business performance.

Essential functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

1. Financial & Operational Planning

  • Build driver-based forecasts that connect flight activity, fleet mix, crew costs, and maintenance inputs to financial performance.
  • Develop dynamic tools to monitor aircraft profitability, utilization, and contribution margins in near real time.
  • Partner with Flight Operations, Maintenance, and MRO teams to align operational KPIs (hours flown, AOG rates, fuel burn, on-time RTS) with financial goals.
  • Support scenario modeling for capacity planning, charter demand shifts, and capital deployment decisions.

2. Strategic & Decision Support

  • Serve as an analytical partner to the COO, CFO, CCO, and senior leadership on key initiatives such as fleet expansion, maintenance capacity, and technology investment.
  • Quantify trade-offs between revenue optimization, reliability, and cost — for example, evaluating crew ratios, positioning efficiency, or MSU coverage strategies.
  • Partner with Commercial and Pricing teams to develop data-driven pricing strategies for wholesale and charter markets using AI-based optimization and statistical modeling.
  • Lead the design of dynamic and algorithmic pricing systems that incorporate demand elasticity, utilization signals, and market dynamics to maximize yield.
  • Build business cases and ROI models for new ventures, partnerships, and aircraft programs.

3. Analytics & AI Enablement

  • Play a key role in shaping the company’s data ecosystem — working with engineering to design and evolve data warehouses, lakes, and semantic layers that enable consistent, trusted analytics across Finance, Operations, and Commercial functions.
  • Define data requirements, schemas, and transformation logic to ensure data quality, lineage, and granularity support accurate and timely decision-making.
  • Partner in developing the next-generation financial and operational data architecture that underpins the company’s AI, reporting, and forecasting capabilities.
  • Deploy predictive and prescriptive models to improve aircraft availability forecasting, maintenance planning, and demand prediction.
  • Implement generative and agentic AI solutions to automate reporting, narrative commentary, and “what-if” simulation.
  • Experiment with Bayesian modeling and reinforcement learning to support pricing, scheduling, and optimization algorithms.
  • Champion the evolution of the company’s AI and analytics roadmap, ensuring scalability and long-term value creation.

4. Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead cross-functional projects that improve transparency, accountability, and performance management.
  • Represent Finance & Analytics as a trusted business partner to leadership teams throughout the company.
  • Coach and mentor analysts and business partners on data interpretation, automation tools, and financial storytelling.
