How youll help us Keep Climbing (overview key responsibilities)

General Manager of Investor Relations will be responsible for the management of all shareholder services programs and lead the cross functional coordination effort in preparation for earnings.

The position reports to the Director of Investor Relations and will be based at the G.O. Building at the Atlanta Headquarters.

Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):

  • Collaborate with key constituents in the commercial, fleet, and finance organizations among others, to ensure that key data points are collected in a timely manner to support the earnings preparation process.
  • Responsible for drafting Delta’s earnings press release and ensuring that internal constituents’ feedback is solicited.
  • Responsible for coordinating all logistical aspects of earnings, including our earnings call and management town hall.

  • Act as the primary contact for arranging Deltas attendance at Wall Street conferences and supports the Investor Relations team in addressing sell side and buy side questions and requests for information.
  • Manage the implementation and maintenance of the quarterly dividend or other shareholder services programs.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stock transfer, proxy service, and other related suppliers.

  • Manage the identification and tracking of company shareholders.
  • Monitors and assess shareholder services issues and trends on a regular basis.

  • Manage Delta’s relationship with the New York Stock Exchange.
  • Work cross functionally with other groups at Delta to prepare for shareholder engagement and proxy season.

  • Manage the relationships between Delta and the corporate governance officers at our largest institutions; this includes conducting proxy analyses and debrief with each of these Officers, keeping up with governance issues that are concerning our shareholders and providing feedback to our executives.
  • Coordinate and participate in proxy solicitation.
  • Oversee the investor relations departmental budget.
  • Manage investor relations email and voicemail inboxes and the investor relations website on delta.com.
  • Ensure proper corporate information is listed on other public websites (e.g., Yahoo, Bloomberg).


What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or other quantitative discipline is required.

  • Should have a strong financial background and the ability to communicate with both external and internal audiences on a daily basis.
  • Interest in storytelling and effectively combining numbers and data with a compelling and succinct narrative to communicate information, concepts and ideas to senior management.
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines.

  • Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.
  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • MBA - Finance or other quantitative discipline preferred.
  • CPA or CFA are desirable.
