What Will You Be Doing?

Hosted in the System Operations Control Center (SOC), the System Airport Operations Manager (SAOM) is responsible for planning, coordination, and recovery of day of departure airport operations throughout Frontiers network, supporting the consistent delivery of safe and on-time performance. The SAOM serves as the primary point of contact for all Airport Customer Service (ACS) operations related escalations. Liaising with local station airport operations teams located across the network, and with internal/external stakeholders within the SOC, this position plays a key role in coordinating airport-level business continuity, and is responsible to lead as the voice of the ACS organization within the SOC.

Essential Functions

  • Manage and lead all ACS functions within the System Operations Control Center with a focus on achieving business continuity and safe and on-time operations.
  • Manage, communicate, and coordinate the daily airport operations of the airline, striving to provide maximum customer service while maintaining operational performance.
  • Coordinate and collaborate closely with the SOC Senior Manager/Director as well as ACS Leadership to ensure efficient day-to-day operations and ensure operational readiness.
  • Collaborate on and communicate operational decisions and options on behalf of the SOC directly to local airport leadership teams while determining impacts of any operational decision on airport operations.
  • Proactively communicate airport related operational concerns and constraints to the appropriate SOC leader.
  • Provide operational direction and guidance to stations during both regular and irregular operations, including the pro-active management of gating, facility-related and airport resource allocations.
  • Provide leadership during irregular operations including (but not limited to):
    • Escalation of operations related issues to appropriate department and to Senior Leadership
    • Facilitation of proactive, 2-way communication between the SOC and local airports.
  • Responsible for coordinating and communicating with ACS and SOC leadership airport-related constraints across the Frontier network- ensuring there are no issues, conflicts or situations which would prove detrimental to the overall operation.
  • Serve as a key point of contact and communication in the event of emergency response.
  • Evaluate potential cancellation, delay, and equipment swaps in coordination with SOC Manager as they relate to airport business continuity.
  • Communicate timely and accurate management of flight information and flight status to all station and Company stakeholders.
  • Monitor local and regional weather as it relates to operational disruptions and plan and communicate disruption plans to all station and Company stakeholders.
  • Complete daily reporting of delays and delay explanations for station management review.
  • Communicate all operational information to flight crews, ground crews, line maintenance, and contract services via ground and ARINC radios as applicable.
  • Develop and maintain a professional and consistent relationship with all departments within the SOC, ACS Organization, the Company, and business partners throughout the Frontier network.
  • Perform daily administrative functions as required.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by your manager.

Other Functions

  • Field all incoming phone calls.
  • Respond to emails/chat messages.
  • Manage special projects and/or committees as assigned.
  • Identify possibilities for operational improvements and communicate them to management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred; combination of equivalent, relevant experience and education considered in lieu.
  • Minimum 3 years of airline experience in an airport customer service, ground service and/or an operational role.
  • Ability to communicate, both written and verbal, in English (Spanish preferred).
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, ability to communicate effectively and follow through of multiple on-going tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of customer service, ramp service, deicing, airport, and airline operations. Experience leading 3 party Business Partners is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Computer applications and software including Microsoft Office Suite, SABRE FliteTrac, SABRE Crew Trac, Navitaire reservations system, NetTracer, Aerobahn, Prodigiq.
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to successfully interact with airport authorities, government agencies and executive leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with other departments, agencies, and individuals.
  • Highly motivated, able to handle multiple, high-profile tasks calmly.
  • Proven ability to make optimal, balanced decisions during stressful and irregular situations.
  • Ability to effectively adapt to changes, embrace new ideas and motivate teams.
  • Outstanding organizational, time management, creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and understand weather reports, flight releases and flight plans.
  • Possess basic mathematical skills.
  • Significant experience with airline/airport operations.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a stressful environment.
  • Ability to communicate in an effective, calm, and professional manner always.

Work Environment

  • Typical office environment, adequately heated and cooled.
  • Shift work- may be required to work varied shifts (day, evening, overnight), holidays and weekends.

General Direction: The incumbent normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and receives general instructions on new assignments.

Salary Range: $58,394 - $77,508 annually
