Opportunities are flying high at the City of Bangor and Bangor International Airport! The City has an opening for an FBO Manager at the Bangor International Airport. This position is responsible for performing administrative and managerial work in the planning, organization, direction, and coordination of all functions and activities of the Airports Fixed Base Operator (FBO). Serves as Manager of Ramp and Customer Service Representative divisions.

This position is full-time (40 hours per week) with a comprehensive benefits package. Highlights include:

A successful candidate for this position will need to pass an airport background check and be able to obtain the appropriate security and customs access to fulfill their job duties.

Requirements:

• Excellent communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to train staff in these skills.
• Thorough knowledge in general business and commercial aviation operations, inclusive of fueling and the methods, materials and equipment used in aviation support, with knowledge of fuels, lubricants and supplies.
• Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and applicable safety precautions involved with aviation support and ability to relay that knowledge to others.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in dealing with the public in a representational/sales setting. Must be able to represent employer to service and deal with service related questions in a most effective manner.
• Knowledge of inventory and billing practices and procedures and ability to perform mathematical calculations.
• Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of administration, management, and supervision.
• Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Ability to negotiate contracts for leasing FBO facilities and grounds.
• Ability to plan, organize, and develop all functions and activities of the FBO.
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers. To assign, direct and oversee the work of others and to ensure the safety of others.
• Ability to professionally and effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Skillful in maintaining a positive working relationship with coworkers, city departments, representatives of local, state and federal agencies, other governmental jurisdictions and members of general public in a courteous and tactful manner.
• Considerable working knowledge of personal computers and software programs, including Microsoft Office Suite, Windows, internet and e-mail services.
• Must pass pre-employment 10-year fingerprint criminal history background check.
• Must obtain U.S. Customs access within 6 months of hire.
