Description:

HeloAir, Inc. is a premiere helicopter flying service in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States. We are looking for a motivated pilot to support our utility branch of the company. A pilot assigned to this position will conduct scheduled and non-scheduled routine patrols of gas pipeline and electrical powerlines and LIDAR patrols.  This work requires travel of between 12 and 21 days a month (but not consecutive months) flying mainly throughout Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, North and South Carolina (but also all the lower 48). Flights are conducted at low level to be able to recognize abnormal operating conditions within the utility right of ways.  Applicants must be professional, self motivated, and must work well with co-workers and clients. The preferred candidate will have experience flying low level and in the wire environment, LIDAR. This position requires the employee to be within driving commuting distance to Richmond, Virginia (RIC) as the primary base of operations. This is a salaried position with various benefits (Health insurance, HSA, 401k matching).  This position requires an initial and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing. Responsibilities:
  • Anticipate client and crew needs to continually improve the level of support and service
  • Work well with crewmembers and provide outstanding customer support to clients
  • Conduct preflight and post flight inspections
  • Conduct pre-work safety briefings
  • Represent the Company in a professional manner
  • Uphold current company policies and procedures
  • Completes and submits all required Company paperwork
  • Operate Company aircraft in a safe manner and maintains safety as the primary concern
  • Maintain required pilot and medical certificates
  • Complies with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulation

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1000 hours total Rotorcraft-Helicopter, 500 hours PIC, 500 hours turbine time
  • FAA Commercial Rotorcraft-Helicopter Certificate with Instrument Helicopter Rating
  • Current FAA class 2 medical certificate.
  • Current FAA Proficiency Check (Bi-Annual Flight Review)
  • Comfortable flying in light helicopters at low level
  • Flying in the wire environment experience preferred
  • Lidar flight experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment Drug and alcohol screening
