EASA ATPL Theoretical Knowledge Instructor - Titusville, Florida

Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic professional with a depth of relevant aviation knowledge and excellent instructional and interpersonal skills.
Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Delivering EASA theoretical knowledge instruction to an ATPL level in up to 4 of the following areas:
Air Law Human Performance Limitations
Airframes, Systems Powerplant Meteorology
Instrumentation General Navigation
Mass Balance Radio Navigation
Performance (Helicopters) Operational Procedures
Performance (Airplanes) Principles of Flight
Flight Planning Monitoring Communications (VFR IFR)
  • Provide out of class remediation, resit testing and assistance to students as required
  • Complete and maintain all necessary records, including class records and student reports in a timely manner
  • Ensures instructional material and tests are kept up to date, in line with any modifications to EASA Learning Objectives or Regulations
  • Delivering FAA Ground School instruction to a minimum of PPL level, but potentially IR and CPL level
  • Perform any departmental related tasks delegated by the Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor

Requirements:

Qualifications and educational requirement:
  • Holds or has held either EASA or FAA professional pilots licence or aircraft maintenance engineer's licence or Military equivalent
  • Have a practical background in aviation in the areas relevant for the subjects in which they will instruct and have undergone a course of training in instructional techniques; or
  • Have previous experience in giving theoretical knowledge instruction and and an appropriate theoretical background in the subject on which they will provide theoretical knowledge instruction
  • Holds a current FAA Basic, Instrument or Advanced Ground Instructor rating or a willingness to acquire such a rating within 3 months of hire date.
Skills and experience:
  • Previous teaching or instructional experience in a classroom environment
  • Professional communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient with technology and various IT packages - in particular MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and Mac (Keynote, iBooks and use of iPad)
  • Proven team player with a collaborative approach to new tasks and opportunities
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a flexible, positive and proactive attitude
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload effectively
  • Solid attention to detail and accuracy when recording information
  • Ability to work in a busy dynamic environment to tight deadlines
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • A University/College degree is advantageous but not essential
