JOB DUTIES


Member of Simulation business unit executive management team.
Responsible and accountable for production and materials management.
Directs associated activities to ensure approved products are manufactured on schedule, within quality standards, and within budget.
Responsible for Supply Chain Activities including scheduling, purchasing, planning, warehouse, inventory, and shipping/receiving.
Directs activities to ensure jobs are planned and scheduled to meet customer commitments.
Oversees all material buying, storing, and issuing to provide accurate cost accounting while controlling inventory levels and cost. Maintains relationships with key suppliers.
Ensures a strong supplier base and supply chain process that meets engineering requirements and applicable regulations.



Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standard of manufacturing operations to ensure products conform to customer requirements and company quality standards.


Achieve optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan.


Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.


Develops and implements performance metrics, reporting and improvement targets of Materials Management and Manufacturing


Direct and monitor department Managers and supervisors to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures.



Ensure compliance with Company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, and safety while completing on time delivery at the lowest possible cost.


Ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory requirements for environmental health and safety, including OSHA and other industry standards


Hire, develop and evaluate staff. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
Ensure compliance with current federal, state and local regulations.
Consult with Human Resources Department as appropriate.



Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap.
Monitor scrap and rework data. Direct the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards.



Direct and coordinate various programs essential to manufacturing procedures such as safety, housekeeping, cost reduction etc.


Keep current on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure compliance.


Accountable for the control and distribution of documents and/or equipment subject to export control restrictions and the security of Company materials, projects and business information regarding the methods and techniques used in the production and usage of FlightSafety products.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and REQUIREMENTS
BS in Business or Manufacturing discipline with a minimum of 15 years rsquo; experience in manufacturing or inventory management (both areas desired) with a minimum of 5 years in management. Or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certified in Production and Inventory Management a plus.


Experienced with Microsoft Windows software and Manufacturing Resource Planning or Enterprise Resource Planning software.
