Production Supervisor - Bridgeport, West Virginia

Description:

The Production Supervisor leads, organizes, and monitors maintenance operations to ensure compliance with FAA, SMS, AS9100, and safety regulations. They manage staff, optimize workflows to meet production schedules, and maintain high-quality standards in aircraft and engine assembly or repair.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the aircraft and engine maintenance functions of production operations.
  • Assign and prioritize tasks to the Lead Technician.
  • Ensure that the Lead Technician is provided with all necessary materials and personnel to accomplish tasks assigned.
  • Train, direct, supervise, and assist all personnel performing work under the Repair Station certificate as directed by the Director of Maintenance.
  • Supervise and assist in the performance of maintenance and alternations tasks on civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Service Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.
  • Ensure that all personnel assigned are thoroughly familiar with all tools and equipment, including inspection aids, used within their assigned area of responsibility.
  • Assure that the work performed is properly recorded on the appropriate maintenance record.

Hangar Operations & Production Leadership

  • Lead daily maintenance and repair activities for aircraft engines and components, ensuring adherence to work scopes, schedules, and customer commitments.
  • Coordinate manpower, tooling, parts availability, and workflow to meet production targets and turnaround times.
  • Assign work orders and prioritize tasks based on operational needs, aircraft on ground (AOG) situations, and customer deadlines.
  • Monitor job progress and address bottlenecks to maintain efficient throughput.
  • Conduct daily shift briefings to communicate priorities, safety topics, and performance expectations.

Safety & Regulatory Compliance

  • Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements within the hangar environment.

Quality & Technical Oversight

  • Partner closely with Quality Assurance to ensure maintenance is performed to approved data and documentation standards.
  • Review completed work for accuracy, completeness, and conformity prior to release.
  • Assist with troubleshooting technical issues and support root-cause analysis for discrepancies or rework.
  • Ensure proper handling, tagging, storage, and documentation of engines, parts, and tooling.

Requirements:

  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
  • 5+ years in aviation maintenance.
  • Is thoroughly familiar with the applicable CFR and with inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of the article on which maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations are being performed.
  • Has the appropriate experience through training, employment history or practical tests and that this information has been documented and is available in the individual’s employment file.
  • Understands the current specifications, involving inspection tolerances, limitations and procedures established by the manufacturer or by an Airworthiness Directive, of the articles being inspected and approved for return to service.

Physical & Work Environment

  • Regular exposure to hangar environments, including noise, equipment, and aircraft engines.

  • May require flexible hours, overtime, or weekend shifts based on operational needs.
  • The willingness to travel and support MRTs from time to time (per diem eligible) would be preferred.
