DPP is seeking a Senior Project Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Sacramento, CA with our client in the Utilities industry.
Position summary:
As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll manage high-stakes, high-voltage Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects with a focus on excellence.
You&39;ll lead multi-discipline engineering projects, ensuring timely, on-budget completion while upholding the client’s Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) guidelines.
Working with talented engineers, sub-contractors, and clients, you’ll be at the forefront of designing and delivering innovative power solutions.
What you’ll do:
Managing the full project life cycle, including safety, scope, schedule, budget, and risk for complex EPC Substation, Protection & Controls (P&C), or Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Line projects
Overseeing project designs, Bill of Materials (BOM), equipment specifications, and construction requirements
Collaborating with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to drive project milestones
Leading the development of project proposals, schedules, and material lists
Providing project performance updates to internal and external stakeholders
Ensuring high-quality deliverables by conducting engineering work reviews
Traveling to client sites and vendor facilities to ensure alignment on project goals
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field (in lieu of a degree, 4 additional years of relevant work experience in Utility Design, Project Management, or Utility Engineering)
Experience managing EPC Substation, Protection & Controls (P&C), or Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Line projects
Level 3: 10-15 years
Senior: 15+ years
Expertise in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for cost/schedule reporting
A strong leader with advanced organizational skills to manage multiple complex projects
A skilled communicator capable of leading cross-functional teams and engaging stakeholders
Knowledge of utility engineering practices with an emphasis on Transmission/Substation design and critical path method scheduling
