Summary of Position:

1. | Ensure integration, qualification and certification at system level upon delegation from the Head of Flight Control Systems Technical Area | 10 |

2. | Execute specific design activities and be responsible for customerrsquo; modifications execution in agreement with Flight Control Systems Technical Area | 10 |

3. | Accountable for technical certification activities for FCS and to show design compliance of the technical solutions designed by the company to the FAA. Work closely with the FAA and DER in supporting showing compliance to applicable technical, programmatic and certification requirements. | 30 |

4. | Jointly support, together with Head of Flight Control Systems Technical Area, the activities definition for planning and execution towards an efficient demonstration of compliance of the design solutions across the product lines. | 20 |

5. | Coordinate and be responsible for day-by-day management of Technical Leaders and engineers belonging to the correspondent Technical Area. | 15 |
|
6. | Together with Area/Discipline managers they do the performance review of TL and engineers and is responsible to develop the competence plan and career development for each member of the team. Together with Area/Discipline managers, they are responsible to fill the gaps in the engineering organization (double interviews hiring process) | 5 |

7. | Is responsible to agree with their Macro Areas of reference the SOW for the activities to be done by their team every year in order to define, working with Engineering Governance, their budget based on activities | 5 |

8. | Is responsible to create and update the EVMs plan for LH US FCS activities | 5 |

|
Qualifications for Position:
A. Education
BS degree in Automatic Control or Aerospace Engineering; |
B. Experience
1. Ten years of experience participating in transport-category certification programs (Part25 or Part29). 2. Five+ years of technical experience and responsibility of teams involved in design, development, test, analysis and qualification of Flight Control Systems. 3. Five years of experience performing Project Management duties. 4. Five years of personnel management experience. |
C. Competencies Attributes
1. | Strong understanding of flight control system components, integration with avionics systems, interaction with aircraft dynamics and aeromechanics to support compliance demonstration against system and certification requirements. Proven experience in environmental qualification practices, sw and complex hw development i.a.w. civil qualification standards for DAL-A systems. |
2. | Proven experience with FAA certification processes. |
3. | Proven experience to develop plans, communicate them, and execute them efficiently across a diverse and complex organization. EVMS experience preferred. |
4. | Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization, ability to negotiate win-win solutions in the presence of conflict and ambiguity, and ability to be a persuasive advocate to internal and external customers. |
5. | High integrity and strong technical expertise to play as primary Flight Control Technology interface with certification authorities. |
