Oceano County Airport
Oceano has a great little campsite adjacent to the tiedown area. Very 'upscale' as far as camping goes, because they have running water and flushing toilets. Not to mention...nearby there are tons of restaurants, a handful within easy walking distance. - Submitted by Mike Smith

4/8/2019 - The campsites at Oceano are part of Pismo State Beach and you might need a reservation. Huge, endless beach and dunes 1/4 mile from the airport South. ATV rentals available to use on the beach. Check out Beach Burger for quality junk food. - Submitted by Joe

3/5/2018 - Just a short walk through the adjacent park is a wonder ful classic diner called The Rock and Roll Diner. It's fashioned from 2 historic railroad cars, one a dining car and the other a lounge car, both from the 1940's. The food is fantastic with American, Greek and Mexican specialties. - Submitted by David Goldfarb

4/30/2012 - Friends of Oceano Airport has upgraded pilots lounge to include microwave and coffee maker. A weather computer should be installed shortly. Webcams: OceanoAirport.com or PismoBeach.com

4/25/2010 - Hello, Oceano Airport campground no longer has showers, but many campers go next door to the county campground for showers. A local group of volunteers named Friends of Oceano Airport has formed to adopt the airport and the campground. The campground has been replanted, and the pilot's lounge has been refurbished. 7/23/2007 - 07/22/07: Unfortunately the showers/sink/washer unit was removed from the campsite at Oceano. Apparently they were told to build a ramp to the showers to make them ADA or remove them. They chose to remove them. When the showers went, the BBQs did too. There are fire rings. The only restroom open is an ADA port-a-potty. They have to make the restrooms ADA too, and that will take time. So sad. It was such a cute campground!
12/19/2005 - The Oceano airport is very unique and is just a few minutes walk to Pismo Beach. We walk from the Oceano Airport to a Beach Front Vacation Home. This is a wonderful weekend get-a-way. Sometimes we bring our folding bikes in the plane and take fantastic bike rides along the beach, get massages, kayak, the possibilities are endless. On Sunday, we can bike to an incredible morning brunch and there is a very nice 9 hole golf course we frequently play. We can find hundreds of things to do at Pismo Beach in Oceano. Our absolute favorite place to stay is in a local beach front vacation home with a hot tub and pool table and fireplace in the master bedroom. Contact (800) 805-RENT (7368) to try the Two4Two Pilot's Special at http://www.PismoSeaWatch.com. There is a special for two people, two nights $500.00 includes either a (pick you up at beach house) Hummer Ride in the dunes, or a $50.00 (walk to) dinner at Old Juan's. You can also ask for a $50.00 cash credit to use as you please. We don't keep our plane tied there more than a few days at a time due to the ocean air however, for a very reasonable yet luxurious weekend get-a-way, with an abundance of things to do, we think we have found our destination combination!

The manager offers tent-huts, which include electrical power and even a heater!
