Lake Havasu City and the London Bridge

Lake Havasu City Airport includes Velocity FBO for the blowhards, and Velocity South FBO for the 4-banger fan club. Onsite you'll find Hangar24 restaurant open 11am weekdays/10am weekends, with large picnic table style seating and private tables with a stage for bands/events. Open honor-system transient parking by Velocity South is free for daytime use but $15/night and $19/night for a reserved shadeport.

There's a dedicated military refuel station here so ya never know what you'll be in the pattern with. Biz-jets, Ospreys, blackhawks, C-130's, gyrocopters, weight-shift flyers and more. Velocity offers crew cars at $15/hr and suggest a 2hr max. Just across the highway is Shops at Lake Havasu including Buffalo Wild Wings, Subway in Wal-Mart, McDonald's, Star Cinemas, PetSmart, department stores and usually a random food shop that comes/goes with the wind changes. The famous London Bridge and English Village is about a 15min drive south which includes several high to low tier restaurants/shops/snack bar options as well as a ferry across the river to the Havasu Landing Casino in California.

And an interesting footnote, Velocity South FBO also has a small swimming pool and sitting area available if you'd like to grab a drink at Hangar24 and bask in the sun. Uber/Lyft available. 100LL full/self serve. - Submitted by R.M. Belcher, II
