It's a tiny public airport in the middle of nowhere, that joins the parking lot of a small strip mall/truck stop just off I-10. It includes Chiriaco Summit Resturant, Cholla House coffee shop, Foster's Freeze burgers/shakes, Convenience/gas station, California Visitor's center, and even guided tours of the area. The General Patton Memorial Tank Museum is a few minutes walk across the lots, and a few minutes past that is the Chiriaco Summit Campground but it appears to be basic dry RV parking with limited tent sites. Bring your own tie-downs and nearest fuel is Blythe, Twentynine Palms or Palm Springs. - Submitted by R.M. Belcher, II
