2009 Parade of Planes, Addison, Texas
This was a great event! Not even a 300 foot ceiling put a damper on this aircraft sales expo. There was a nice turnout, nice folks and good food to boot.
We wandered around and "ooohed" and "ahhhed" over the delicious menu of aircraft before us. I ran into an old friend there who had just finished his instrument rating and was seriously checking out these birds as his aerial chariot to the skies. He wants to see his son play football at all those distant locations where he'll be playing, and what better way to get there than to have your on personal airline!

GOOD Catfish and GREAT People! You couldn't have asked for a nicer day either. Big band music playing in the background and aircraft everywhere! It don't git no better than this!

2008 Texas RV Fly-in
What a fly-in! We drove out to the Midway Regional Aiport in Midlothian/Waxahachie and saw an incredible number of RV aircraft from Van's Aircraft. These RV builders proudly displayed the results of their hard work in the static of this very nice airport. Then we all sat down and had the best brisket and "tator" salad we've ever eaten! We can't wait until next year!

Tom Moore visits Avery Aircraft Tools
Tom Moore invited me to ride along with for that infamous hundred-dollar-hamburger at Hicks Airfield in Fort Worth, Texas. After arriving, we went into the Rio Concho Aviation Restaurant and started working on our cheeseburgers when Bob Avery walks in and starts talking with us. Then he invited us over to his Aircraft Tool shop and gave us the grand tour! This was indeed a real treat for me, since the majority of my RV-9A aircraft tools come from Avery Tools.
