Lancaster Airport - Lancaster, PA
Lancaster Airport Submitted by Mike on 4/30/2009 Quite possibly the best pilot shop on the east coast is tucked away in Lancaster, PA. If you've been looking for a new headset, they have a whole wall of demo's to try out (complete with a simulated engine noise generator). There is also a nice restaurant on the field with some decent views of airport operations. Check out the pilot shop at www.flyairways.com.

Arkansas Air Museum - Fayetteville, AR
The historic aircraft in the Arkansas Air Museum are unusual among museum exhibits because most of them still fly. There are few "stuffed birds" in this collection. From world-famous racing planes of the 1920s and 1930s to an early airliner, the planes are maintained in flying condition. Located at Drake Field in Fayetteville, Ark

Vintage Flying Museum - Ft Worth, TX
A very nice museum located at the south end of Ft Worth Meacham International Airport. They house about a dozen aircraft housed in a World War Two B-29 Hangar. The centerpiece of the collection is a Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress. They are open on weekends. If you want to come during the week call ahead. They host a warbird fly in every June. And they have a wonderful 1940's big band hangar dance every October. It is really neat to see a full big band set up under the nose of the B-17

Lake Lawn Resort - Delavan, WI
View from the air. Submitted by Dave on 6/6/2009 Lake Lawn is a great place to fly your significant other on Sunday morning. Fly into Lake Lawn airport located in Southeast Wisconsin and walk 1/4 mile to a enjoy, golf, fine dining or go for a refreshing swim in the lake. One caution about the airport there in no fuel service, however Janesville is just minutes away and offers full pilot ammenities. The resort offers an elegant first class brunch with all the trimmings. Thier menu typically includes all the normal breakfast trimmings with made to order omlets, along with mussels, shrimp, prime rib, ham, and not to mention a desert table that could put you over your weight limit in your plane if you a re not careful. If you are looking for a weekend getaway or you want to make more of a day out of it, try out their 18 hole course. A challenging track reasonably priced. I have not stayed at the resort but based on everything else I have seen I would imagine the rooms are very nice.

Mustang Beach - Port Aransas, TX
The Mustang Beach airport is a City operated facility with a 3,500 foot lighted, newly repaved, asphalt runway and taxi-way. The airport has a part-time Airport Manager, but when unmanned, responsibility lies with the pilot. Submitted by Dave on 6/15/2009 Probably the best place in Texas to fly into. It has more to offer a family than any place we have found. The airport is just what is needed. There is a paved runway, restrooms, phone, weather device, fuel and plenty of parking in the grass. No one on duty. Sipher lock on door, read sign for combination. Bring tiedown. There is also a trolley system to town, 3 miles away.I understand they may have a small charge now, it is worth it in the heat of south Texas. Usually at the airport at 45 past the hour. Returns at the highway about 05 past the hour. There is a yacht basin close by with facilities for boaters. You are allowed access to some of them. There is a new hotel with in walking distance and many condos towards the beach. The beach is about half a mile away. We usually fly in and use our folding bikes to ride the beach into town. Several good restaurants all year long. Visit the harbor, ride the ferry, shop, walk the birding area, walk the jetties and the pier. Check the city web site with a search. You want be sorry you visited Port "A" if you like the coast. The most comfortable time and cleanest beaches are after a cold front blows through. Listen up on Corpus approach for traffic and use the unicom. Sometimes the Navy uses RAS for practice approaches. A varity of planes will be seen here from experimentals to jets enjoying this facility and all the city of Port Aransas offers. Bonanza Bill, GTU.
