If there's only one fly-away destination you make this year, Gaston's has got to be it. This is a great riverside resort. The main draw is trout fishing, but the setting, accomodations, and dining also make it a great place to visit. They have their own 3200' turf strip, and sell 100LL. Cafe right on the ramp! Ask for a progressive to Banyan and call 130.8 to let them know you are going to the restaurant. The view is spectacular and the food is a match for the view. Burgers, a wide variety of freshly made salads, entrees, pizzas and sandwiches, incredible tomato basil soup a signature dish, and a soup of the day it was French onion when we were in, perfect for the one brisk day of the year in Florida. Call before as their hours of operation are changing, open until 3 and closed on sundays.

Brand new airport near Branson, excellent facilities, inexpensive fuel, secure, car rental arrangements and very friendly operator. Branson is one of the top destinations in the Mid West, with enough activities in the area to keep you busy for several weeks from fishing to theater with shopping in between. Beautiful surroundings in the heart of the Ozark Mountains. We spent 1 night, enjoyed a wonderful meal at the White River Fish House on the Branson Landing in Old Town. The pedestrian walkway along the river, the dancing water fountain show and the fine shops are unique and give you a family oriented Las Vegas type experience in a much prettier location. We'll be back. Oh, I forgot to mention the Fall folliage in early October.
