We have fun kids fly away meals and serve breakfeast burritos etc. Located in the tower building at Mathis Field. Bring a picture of your plane for under our glass tables for everyone to see. Air Park-Dallas Airport (F69), The best $100.00 Hamburger stop ever! There are at least 40 restaurants within a 3-5 min walk of the Northwest transient ramp. WIllow bend Shopping mall is across the street. Home Depot and Costco are all adjacent to the Airport property. Christina's Mexican, Moo-yaa's Burger's, Pei-Wei, you name it, it's there. and you can even go shopping at Neiman's. Right traffic to 34. Pattern Alt is 1200. Apache Pass Airpark (4XA4), Apache Pass is in Downtown Texas, Texas, www.DowntownTexas.com, is a new unincorporated community here in the population middle of Texas. There is a restaurant under construction by the airpark and two new RV parks one on the river. The Apache Pass River Theatre and pavilion is on the banks of the San Gabriel River and it has the longest Indiana Jones type skybridge in the continental United States which is a few hundred yards of the airpark and restaurant. The area is rich in history and you can view the history link on their website www.apachepass.com. The restaurant should be open by June 1st and is decorated with an American Indian motiff showcasing artifacts found here in the Spanish Mission area. It also has a tee pee inside for the smaller folks to dine. It is also on the newly designated El Camino Real de los Tejas which is a National Historic Trail. Stinson Municipal Airport (SSF), Bernard McGraw brings his authentic Creole Kitchen cuisine and casual dining to Stinson Airport, McGraw and his family evacuated New Orleans for San Antonio during Hurricane Katrina. He found it difficult to find that home cooked taste that he loved and missed, so he opened a small restaurant serving those familiar dishes from back home. Bernard’s has now moved into the newly renovate space in the Stinson Airport terminal building. This restaurant is very unique and has a rotation of live music, relax with some of the finest jazz, or step it up a bit with zydeco and the blues. The food, from the Red Beans and Rice to the Cajun Seafood Platter and everything in between including my favorite the 'Ain’t Ya Momma’s Meat Loaf' are phenomenal, but for you Gumbo lovers, there is none better. Big Bend Ranch (3TE3), State Park with Bunkhouse and house available for rent. Would be a great place to spend a couple days in the wild and remote Big Bend country of Texas where the stars seem to light up the night sky. Miles of hiking and bike trails and guided horseback tours are available as well but confirm in advance. Check State Park website for details and upcoming events such as cattle drives. 5500' paved runway in good condition with no fuel. Note this place is over 20 miles from the nearest town or paved road. Very picturesque - likely best in Spring, Winter or Fall - hot in summer. - Submitted by C. Baker |

Boerne Stage Field Airport (5C1), Boerne Stage Airfield is located on Scenic Loop Road northwest of San Antonio. The orignial Rudy's BBQ is a few minutes away, and the Scenic Loop Cafe and historic downtown Boerne are always worth the flight. Golf at Tapatia Springs Resort is a beautiful challenge. The airport has a courtesy car, self service fuel, and there are numerous hotels and BB's in this beautiful hill country town. - Submitted by Daled78596 |

Brenham Municipal Airport (11R), Great airport. Newly resurfaced runway & ramp. Friendly FBO. Southern Flyer Restaurant is a 50's theme Diner. Waitresses wear bobby socks, saddle shoes, poodle skirts, and pony tails, and are learning to jitterbug. Juke boxes all work! The food is fantastic--highly recommend the onion rings and hamburgers. The courtesy car is really cool. The town of Brenham is 15 minutes away--go on the tour of the Blue Bell Ice Cream Factory. Tours are Monday to Friday; $2.50 per adult, free ice cream.
