Huntington and Roush Lake

Land at Huntington Municipal Airport 9-27 runway with taxiway and you will be within a 10 minute walk of Roush Lake to the south. Several overlooks will give a great view to enjoy the Lake or check out a good restaurant, Huntington University Campus or the Dan Quail Museum. 8/31/2011 - Flew to Huntington on Aug 22, 2011. There no longer is access to the lake from the airport. Apparently the lake used to be a local park with beaches and picnic areas. Now it is a state conservation area. You can walk to the bridge at the west end of the lake and the view is nice. We walked to town about 1 1/2 mile and ate at Los Amigos. Food was wonderful! They get cheese from local Amish farmers. The airport has a courtesy car if you want to go to the center of town - probably another 2 miles. Still a nice stop and really nice terminal and FBO. - Submitted by hjeuropa
8/27/2010 - This is a little misleading. There are NO restaurants on the lake although you can walk over to a picnic area that's about 10 minutes away - just bring your own food because there's no food available anywhere near there. The airport does have a courtesy van; they suggested Subway... - Submitted by Judy Birchler
