This role involves close collaboration with Engineering, Program Management and Product Line Management to develop innovative connectivity solutions. Manages the development and launch of IFC services, requiring intricate integration across multiple internal departments, adherence to stringent delivery timelines, and coordination with customers for complex products.  The primary focus is the Multi-Orbit initiative, being accountable for commercial management and ensuring the projects financial viability. This initiative involves leveraging both GEO (Geostationary Earth Orbit) and LEO (Low Earth Orbit) satellite networks to enhance global connectivity and service delivery. This role guarantees that the Multi-Orbit project flawlessly delivers connectivity services across all airline accounts. Oversees project (s) integration, develops strategic plans and roadmaps to maintain operational excellence of current and future customer services, and ensures superior execution. Multi-Orbit Initiative Project Deliverable Oversight
  • Direct global operations planning, resource planning, budgeting, and expense priorities for the global Multi-Orbit project team.
  • Establishes an integrated strategy and direction based on long-term goals, addressing issues or seizing opportunities, and integrating diverse perspectives.
  • Create and ensure effective Change Management processes are established and adhered to.
  • Monitor and improve the actual and contractual performance of all IFC Solutions in alignment with airline business requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Satellite Capacity (SatCap) group to manage satellite network forecasts, optimizing cost efficiency and customer commitment performance.
  • Direct and lead connectivity business unit development projects with appropriate controls and programmatic elements (schedule, resources, priority).
  • Proactively develops and manages business relationships to influence decisions with other senior-level cross-functional partners.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to ensure New Product Introductions meet or exceed customer expectations .
  • Partner and collaborate with Connectivity and Regional Account Management in customer communications.
  • Guide and assist Connectivity Sales activities globally, including participation in sales reviews and Commitment Review Boards (CRB).

Strategy Organizational Management   

  • Develop global connectivity operations and customer service delivery strategies/models in conjunction with the Vice President of Connectivity and other business unit leaders, optimizing operational and financial performance.
  • Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges or regulatory issues; develops creative and/or innovation solutions.
  • Drive process improvement for customer success and financial performance.
  • Develop and manage budgetary responsibility for Multi-Orbit Connectivity Operations, overseeing planning and performance.
  • Participate in P L/budget reviews with executive management, elevating areas of risk and presenting recommendations to mitigate risk.
  • Set clear, achievable operational and performance goals aligned with PAC objectives.
  • Keep global matrixed team fully informed of operational objectives and statuses.
  • Proactively work cross-functionally to address key operations and planning issues, developing and enacting resolution plans.
  • Research and promote operational policies, procedures, and continuous process improvement practices.
  • Liaise with Sales and Regional Account Management to ensure customer proposals are feasible and accurately costed.
  • Support the sales and marketing processes by ensuring thorough commitment control and comprehensive financial and operational planning at both project and business levels.

Other Programs, Adaptability and Miscellaneous Duties   

  • Other programs may include but are not limited to; Legacy IFC, WiFi Roaming, modular interactive portal execution, implementation and overall program management.
  • Engage in other duties as assigned and adapt responsibilities according to evolving market dynamics and organizational priorities.
The salary range of $181,000 – $303,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.     What We’re Looking For:  
  • Expert knowledge of In-Flight Communication (IFC) systems, which include technologies and services provided to airline passengers during flights, namely internet access.
  • Advanced experience in project management.

  • Strong skills in recruiting, developing, and leading teams, promoting professional growth and team cohesion.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing comprehensive strategic plans, aligning them with company goals and objectives.
  • Proven ability to dissect and understand intricate problems involving numerous variables, devising effective solutions.
  • Excellent capabilities in both written and verbal communication, including the skill to present complex concepts to executive decision-makers in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • Advanced skills in Excel for complex data analysis, PowerPoint for crafting impactful presentations, and Word for creating professional documents.
  • BA/BS degree in business and/or Engineering; with an MBA being highly desirable.
  • 12+ years of in In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) experience.
  • Project Management or Satellite Network Operations is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 7 years of increasing managerial experience.
  • Familiarity with airline operational procedures and/or electronics manufacturing environments is also favored.
  • Up to 30 of work time may be required. This includes both domestic and international destinations, aligning with business needs and project requirements.

This means that there is no fixed number, range, or limit to the amount of Personal and Vacation Days that may be taken for exempt employees. Non-exempt hourly employees accrue 14 vacation days per year + 7 sick days + 3 personal days. Accrual rate increases with tenure. All employees receive 11 company paid holidays per year. We also close our offices at the corporate level in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year. For operational positions that are expected to work on holidays, we provide additional compensation for hours worked.
