Corporate SMS Safety Risk Manager - Appleton, Wisconsin

With supervision from the Director of Corporate Safety (DCS), the Corporate SMS Safety Risk Manager responsibilities include management and technical systems administration of the Corporate Integrated Safety, Risk and Quality Assurance Management Program, Corporate Safety Risk Analysis Program and Corporate Safety Risk Management Program as required by the Corporate Safety Management System (CSMS) and 14 CFR Part 5.

Job Functions:

  • Promotes and fosters a safe and secure operating environment.
  • Primary Technical System Manager and Subject Matter Expert responsible to manage all aspects of the Corporate Integrated Safety, Risk and Quality Assurance Management System.
  • Ensures all data, reports, and records are maintained as required and are factually correct, statistically sound, and appropriately secured.
  • Creates and maintains all required documentation detailing administration process of the Q[1]Pulse system.
  • Manages the technical design, development, deployment and continuous improvement of consolidated information and data platform for all Safety Assurance inputs as required by the CSMS.
  • Manages the technical design, development, deployment and continuous improvement of the Safety Data Reporting System including creation of Safety Performance Indicators (SPI), dashboards, reports and investigation processes required by the CSMS.
  • Processes all Operational Event Reporting Program reports received within the SMS Integrated Management System.
  • Assists with the development of initial and continuous improvement of safety performance metrics and safety goals as required by the SMS.
  • Daily technical support of SMS Dashboard.
  • Ensures proper disposition of all safety documents, reports, records, analysis and correspondence.
  • Creates and maintains SMS-required documentation of safety data collection, analysis, and dissemination processes.
  • Schedules, coordinates and leads required SRMT meetings.
  • Manages all risk assessment meeting agendas, presentations, hand-outs, and minutes.
  • Monitors and ensures all risk assessment outputs including corrective actions, recommendations and escalations are completed within the required timeframe.
  • Maintains a comprehensive corporate hazard and risk registry.
  • Monitors and ensures processes and procedures required by the CSMS are completed as required.
  • Manages Safety and Security Investigations as directed by the Vice President of Safety and Security and/or Director of Corporate Safety.
  • Schedules, coordinates, facilitates and documents SMS Investigation interviews and Learning Team activities.
  • Primary Administrator of the Corporate Safety Department SharePoint public portal page content.
  • Emergency Response Team Member.

Education Experience:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years experience with data mining, analysis, trending and reporting
  • 3 years experience with systems administration
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, internet courseware and development tools

Preferred:

  • 1-3 years experience in Aviation Flight Operations, Aviation Safety Programs, or Airline Operations
  • Experience in flight operation performance data, statistical and risk analysis
  • Experience in Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement strategies
  • Problem solving and the ability to act as an advocate for change
  • Strong analytical ability and logical aptitude to work with complex regulatory requirements
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently
  • Strong communication skills
