APOG Music Festival - Fly-In to 1S2

Darrington Municipal Airport (1S2)
Darrington, WA
Fly into Darrington Municipal 1S2 for APOG - Any Patch of Grass - a three-day electronic music and camping festival set in a forest amphitheater at the foot of the Cascades. The Darrington Music Park sits about 90 minutes north of Seattle by car, but you'll have the prettier route: up the Sauk River valley under Whitehorse Mountain. Roughly 2,000 people gather here each July for music across multiple stages, with on-site camping under the evergreens. A few honest notes. This is a 21+ event, and gates open Friday July 3 at 10 AM arrive before 10 PM Friday - no Saturday arrivals. The airport is day-VFR with no fuel and no services, so top off before you come and bring your own tie-downs. It's a fair distance from the runway to the venue and into town - plan a folding bike or a ride the music park is a few miles west of town. Town itself has restaurants, a coffee shop, a grocery store, and a couple of bars, all an easy walk once you're in. For lodging, the festival has multiple camping areas walk-in camping is included with a ticket car and RV camping are separate - see apog.life, or the Darrington Motor Inn is in town. Bring layers for cool mountain nights, sun protection for the day, and rain gear just in case. Mountains, evergreens, and a runway instead of a parking lot - a Cascade festival worth the flight.
