Solar Eclipse Fly-In

Port Bucyrus-Crawford County Airport (17G)
Bucyrus, OH
SOLAR ECLIPSE FLY-IN! Pilots, looking for an airport in northcentral Ohio to view the solar eclipse on April 8th? Consider coming to 17G! We are in the zone of totality and weather permitting will offer a spectacular view! We will be offering overnight and same day aircraft parking but PRIOR PERMISSION IS REQUIRED! Grass runway 9-27 will be closed for takeoffs and landings because of airplane parking. If you're flying in the day before the eclipse you are more than welcome to bring your gear and camp out. Bring your own tie downs, too. We will have numerous port-a-pots available, golf carts to shuttle you around the airport and several courtesy vehicles for trips into town only a mile away if needed. The local Air Explorers squadron will be offering for donation coffee and donuts on the morning of April 8th and bratwurst and hot dogs for lunch. Parking is only $15, both overnight and same day. Remember, PRIOR PERMISSION IS REQUIRED! Once the airplane parking slots are full the airport will be NOTAM closed until after the eclipse. So, reserve your slot NOW! Please email Kevin at kndetray@gmail.com or call 419-561-0158 for further information or questions. Hope to see you there! All proceeds will benefit Air Explorer Post 117 and the Lauretta Schimmoler Museum, Inc.
