Great airport. Newly resurfaced runway & ramp. Friendly FBO. The courtesy car is really cool. The town of Brenham is 15 minutes away--go on the tour of the Blue Bell Ice Cream Factory. 2/25/2021 - Restaurant has been closed for many months. Previous owner has moved on. One FBO may try to open diner in late Spring? Fuel prices are very low also. - Submitted by Ken Curtis

1/26/2019 - Stopped in for fuel. Low price. Place was hopping with a bunch of flyers in the cafe and the ramp was full. Seems low fuel prices and a restaurant is the winning combination. - Submitted by Huey

1/27/2017 - The Southern Flyer Diner is closed until further notice. Those of us who have enjoyed this location for years are greatly saddened. Still have great fuel prices, swing by and say hello if you are in the area.

6/3/2010 - My wife and I flew to Brenham from New Braunfels to eat at the Southern Flyer Diner. This was my second time and my wife's first. The food was great and so was the service. The diner was busy but not overly crowded. The best comment I can make though is regarding their great customer service when my airplane's battery needed a jump. Turns out the alternator switch was a bit dirty and not making good contact. They were happy to assist without a complaint or comment. Of course, I'll be back!!! - Submitted by Randy Sarske
9/15/2006 - 9-14-06 - Flew there for dinner with friends from San Antonio. On Thurs. They are only open until 8:00 PM. Food was good, the diner is very cute. We had a nice evening pt/N732TY
2/16/2004 - 2/16/04 I flew over today for lunch. Food was good. This place on Monday (presidents day holiday) was packed at 1pm. Everything from 150's to a small lear was there dining! Neat
4/22/2003 - The theme of this restaurant is very cute. However, I have been there twice and I don't think the food is all that great and the service is very slow! The malts and shakes are great and the atmosphere is pretty. It should be on everyone's list once, but I couldn't recommend visiting on a regular basis.
