Awesome little airport in Northport, MI, one hour north driving time from Traverse City. It has two well maintained Turf runways, one of them 9-27 over 3500' long, and the other 16-34 over 2500' long.. The manager Tom Weatherby of the airport is very helpful, will pick you up and take you into town. It's a beautiful flight over the two finger peninsulas jutting out of Michigan in that area. Northport is a great place to vacation. Quiet town, close to big Traverse City and to fishing town, Leland, MI. 6/17/2021 - We just landed there on June 15 2021. It's a very well maintained airport. I talked with the airport manager before arrival and he was very helpful. They have crew bikes available and it was an easy and pretty ride into Northport for lunch and coffee. NOTE: The bikes are functional but you should plan a few minutes to put air in the tires hand pumps were available. Also you may need to try a few bikes before you get too far away. There is also a hiking trail to the State Park. This is an asset to Northport and well worth the trip for a leisurely outing. - Submitted by Eric Seelye
