The Landings on Monkey Island
4000' paved runway, 35 approach is over the lake. Landings Marina is at the southeast end of the runway. Restaurant sets on the water, serving great burgers and many other items. Also, Shangri-La Country Club with 36 holes of championship golf. Boats for rent and plenty of lodging available. Transportation available to anywhere on the Island. - Submitted by Paul Staten

6/27/2023 - June 2023 Update. The airport has changed ownership, and as of June 26, 2023, there are no services available on-field. The runway and taxiways are in good shape, but you are well served to bring your tie-downs as the ropes on the ramp are old and rotten. The Shangri-La Resort is just a little over 1 mile down the road and they will come pick you up within 5 minutes of calling them. The Shangri-La Resort has 27 holes of golf, plus their new Battlefield Par 3 course, The resort has 5 restaurants, an arcade, and is pretty high-end. You feel like you are somewhere when you are at the Resort. I know this title is for The Landings at Monkey Island, but wanted to give a more recent .

11/4/2018 - Fun place to fly to on a weekend for the $100 burger. There is a landing fee $25 unless you eat at the diner. The burger and tots I had was delicious. The scenery is beautiful and the approach to 35 over the water is fun. Check it out if you're looking for a new airport to explore. - Submitted by Chris Spears
10/12/2015 - We flew in and landed at 3O9, got a ride to the Landing and had an awesome hamburger on the dock watching the boats. The landing on 17 was very cool, wanting to go back and land 35 with approach over water. - Submitted by Randy
