Lamberts Cafe
Great home cooking landmark in Southern Missouri appropriately named Home of the Throwed Rolls. If you've never experienced this place you should definitely put it on your list. The local airport KSIK, sits about 3 miles from Lamberts and while you could make the walk...the secret is to call for the shuttle and I'll tell you why; Lamberts is a very popular local and tourist destination so believe me when I say, the lines wrap around the building. Now here comes the secret part...if you fly into the airport and call for shuttle service no charge but Chris always appreciates a tip, they will walk you in the exit door while jokingly says, don't make eye contact. You will be seated immediately, served and chowing down on some of the best southern cooking I've ever experienced...I like to call it Cracker Barrel on steroids.

UPDATE: Call Lambert's when you land. They will pick you up in their limo, take you to the restaurant and put you at the front of the always line. When your ready, they'll load you up and take you back to the airport. Great food....fun atmosphere. Just be sure your hungry. Oh, BTW...they do NOT take credit cards - bring cash! 9/2/2019 - We flew into Sikeston yesterday. The FBO attendant met us at our plane and called Lambert's for us. Their shuttle was sent and Daryl, the driver, escorted to the cafe. He took us through the exit and immediately seated us, skipping the line that is always there. We enjoyed a wonderful meal and then our waitress let Daryl know we were ready to head back to the airport. Back to the airport we went and we were on our way back home. 9/16/2016 - This is absolutely true. I did this a couple weeks ago after arriving early for a Pilots n Paws flight. Shuttle was on its way for two other guys. I quickly secured the plane and hopped on. Less than 5 min drive, walked in the exit door. Within 5 minutes of arriving at Lambert's, my drink order was being taken. I tipped the driver, not sure if it was Chris though. - Submitted by Tyler

4/22/2014 - Flew down from St. Louis on Easter Sunday had a great flight in to KSIK. Arrived at the airport of course everything was closed but there was a sign on the FBO witha number to call for someone to pick you up. Called, within five minutes we were heading to Lamberts. When we arrived we were moved to the head of the line, had a great meal, and we're shuttled back to the airport. Well worth the trip. I would not go there though expecting to too off 100LL was more expensive there that at my home base at KSUS. - Submitted by Steve
8/13/2013 - Don't let anyone tell you not to go to this restaurant. It is the bomb! Best food, great service and the shuttle service is fast. If more restaurants did this they would all be rich. Food, service and transpo!!!! WOW!!!! - Submitted by Richard D

7/6/2010 - I've eaten at Lamberts since the 1970's. The foood is outstanding and the proportions are really big. They also provide free pass-arounds which are many of their side dishes plus the famous rolls. These items alone make a meal in itself. The only problem is that after you and your three passengers eat you are guaranteed to be overgross for the return flight. By far, this is the best country diner you will ever get to eat at. They were voted #1 restaurant in America to pig out at by the Food Channel. - Submitted by Bill
