Things You Need to Know as a Pilot During Planning and Preflight For a VFR / IFR Flight. 7 PM, VFR / IFR flight planning covers a lot of different areas all of which are important for a successful and safe outcome to the planned flight. Deciding the route, getting an effective weather briefing, reviewing VFR IFR departure and approach procedures, obstacle avoidance and aircraft preflight are some of the areas that will be discussed. Remember that as Pilot In Command PIC you are directly responsible for, and are the final authority as to the operation of the aircraft. Pilots who are interested in Spin Training- Upset Recovery! Please join us for Breakfast the The Flying W Airport's Runway Cafe. Third Saturday of the Month! Janaury 19, 2013. We will have Bob McGuigan Talk about Upset Recovery and Spin Training. Free “Ground Instruction” will start at 9:00 – Open to Everyone. Please note that is will be weather dependent, but we will still have breakfast at the Runway Cafe if the weather is unflyable.
